MBBS in Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome Faculty of Medicine and Surgery

Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome – Faculty of Medicine and Surgery is a leading private medical university located in Rome, Italy. The university is recognised for integrating medical education, biomedical research, engineering, healthcare innovation, and patient-centred clinical practice within a modern academic environment. It prepares future physicians through an interdisciplinary approach that combines scientific excellence with practical clinical experience.

Established in 1993, Campus Bio-Medico University has developed into one of Italy's most respected medical institutions. The university operates alongside its own university hospital, allowing students to gain extensive clinical experience while learning directly from experienced physicians, surgeons, researchers, and healthcare professionals.

The six-year Single-Cycle Degree in Medicine and Surgery follows the European Higher Education Area framework and combines biomedical sciences, clinical medicine, public health, scientific research, ethics, communication skills, and evidence-based healthcare. The curriculum is designed to develop both scientific competence and professional responsibility while promoting innovation in healthcare.

Students begin with foundational subjects including anatomy, histology, embryology, physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, immunology, pathology, pharmacology, neuroscience, behavioural sciences, epidemiology, medical ethics, public health, and scientific methodology. These disciplines provide the scientific foundation required for advanced clinical education.

Teaching combines lectures, anatomy practicals, laboratory sessions, simulation-based learning, clinical skills workshops, case-based discussions, problem-based learning, digital education, and small-group tutorials. Students develop critical thinking, communication skills, teamwork, professionalism, and evidence-based clinical reasoning throughout the programme.

The university places particular emphasis on interdisciplinary healthcare by integrating medicine with biomedical engineering, artificial intelligence, digital health, robotics, precision medicine, and healthcare technology. Students are encouraged to understand how innovation improves patient care and clinical outcomes.

Clinical education is delivered through Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital and affiliated healthcare institutions. Students progressively participate in supervised patient care while completing clinical rotations across a broad range of medical specialties.

Clinical training includes internal medicine, general surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, psychiatry, cardiology, neurology, orthopaedics, emergency medicine, anaesthesiology, dermatology, ophthalmology, ENT, radiology, oncology, nephrology, endocrinology, respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, geriatrics, family medicine, rehabilitation medicine, and community healthcare.

Students participate in ward rounds, outpatient consultations, emergency departments, operating theatres, multidisciplinary clinical meetings, diagnostic investigations, and supervised patient management. Clinical responsibilities increase progressively throughout the programme as students prepare for independent medical practice.

Simulation-based education plays an important role in practical learning. Students train in advanced simulation centres equipped with patient simulators, surgical skills laboratories, emergency medicine facilities, procedural training centres, digital healthcare systems, and consultation rooms before beginning real clinical practice.

Research is a core component of the university's mission. Students are encouraged to participate in biomedical and clinical research involving oncology, neuroscience, regenerative medicine, molecular medicine, genetics, immunology, cardiovascular medicine, biomedical engineering, robotics, artificial intelligence, pharmacology, epidemiology, and precision medicine. Research participation develops scientific thinking and evidence-based clinical decision-making.

Campus Bio-Medico University collaborates with hospitals, research institutes, healthcare organisations, engineering centres, and international universities to strengthen research, clinical education, and innovation. These collaborations expose students to multidisciplinary healthcare and international academic opportunities.

Throughout the curriculum, students study evidence-based medicine, healthcare leadership, professionalism, patient safety, medical ethics, healthcare quality improvement, digital medicine, public health, and interprofessional collaboration. Graduates develop the skills required for modern healthcare environments.

Students benefit from outstanding educational facilities including anatomy laboratories, biomedical research laboratories, simulation centres, engineering laboratories, clinical skills facilities, digital learning platforms, advanced university hospitals, and modern healthcare technologies.

Student life includes scientific societies, research groups, leadership programmes, innovation initiatives, international exchanges, volunteering opportunities, cultural activities, and sports facilities. Comprehensive academic support services help students throughout their medical education.
